Pink Pelican: Grace on the Water

The pink pelican, also known as the great white pelican, is a striking waterbird found in Europe, Asia, and Africa. With its soft pink plumage, expansive wingspan, and iconic throat pouch, this pelican is a master of fishing. Using its pouch to scoop up fish, it can hold up to three gallons of water at a time.

Pink pelicans are social creatures, often seen gliding in synchronized formations or nesting in large colonies near lakes and rivers. Their courtship rituals, featuring head-bobbing and synchronized movements, are a spectacular display of nature’s choreography. These birds are a keystone species, contributing to the health of aquatic ecosystems.
